Supporting Mental Wellbeing Through Professional Excellence
“Recognising professionals dedicated to promoting emotional wellbeing, ethical practice, compassionate support, and lifelong professional development.”
Welcome to the Professional Board of Counselling & Mental Health Professionals
The Professional Board of Counselling & Mental Health Professionals exists to recognise, support, and promote professionals who are committed to improving the emotional wellbeing, resilience, and quality of life of individuals, couples, families, and communities. Around the world, the demand for qualified mental health support continues to grow as people seek guidance for life's challenges, relationship difficulties, emotional distress, grief, trauma, stress, anxiety, personal growth, and overall wellbeing.
Many mental wellbeing professionals work outside statutory healthcare systems and provide education, guidance, practical support, coaching, counselling, and preventative interventions that help people develop healthier ways of thinking, communicating, coping, and living. These professionals often become the first point of contact for individuals who need support, encouragement, practical strategies, and access to appropriate services.
The International Professional Registrar (IPR) recognises the significant contribution these professionals make to society. The Professional Board of Counselling & Mental Health Professionals has been established to promote recognised professional standards, ethical practice, accountability, and continuous professional development while helping the public identify professionals who are committed to excellence.
Registration with the Professional Board demonstrates a voluntary commitment to professionalism, integrity, competence, ongoing education, and responsible practice. It reflects a professional's dedication to providing services that place the wellbeing, dignity, and best interests of every client at the centre of their professional work.
