Complaints & Disciplinary Procedures

Ensuring Fairness, Accountability, and Public Protection

The International Professional Registrar is committed to maintaining public confidence through fair, transparent, and impartial complaints and disciplinary procedures. These procedures provide a structured process for addressing concerns regarding the professional conduct, ethical behaviour, or competence of registered professionals.

Complaints may be submitted by clients, employers, colleagues, organisations, or members of the public where there is reasonable concern that professional standards may not have been met. Every complaint is handled with fairness, confidentiality, and procedural integrity while ensuring that both the complainant and the professional have the opportunity to present relevant information.

The purpose of disciplinary procedures is not solely punitive but protective and educational. Where appropriate, outcomes may include guidance, education, supervision, corrective action, conditions of registration, suspension, or removal from the register where public protection requires such action.

The IPR remains committed to balancing fairness to professionals with its primary responsibility of safeguarding the public and maintaining confidence in registered professionals worldwide.
