Our Vision
To be a trusted international professional registrar that advances professional excellence, strengthens public confidence, and supports lifelong commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and professional accountability.
We envision a future where every individual, organisation, and community can confidently identify professionals who are committed to the highest standards of competence, integrity, and service, creating a global culture where professionalism is recognised, valued, and trusted.
Our Mission
The mission of the International Professional Registrar (IPR) is to support public confidence while empowering professionals through independent registration, ethical standards, professional accountability, and continuous professional development.
We are committed to raising the standard of professional practice by providing a trusted framework that recognises competence, promotes lifelong learning, encourages ethical leadership, and supports excellence across diverse professions and industries.
Through collaboration, research, and responsible governance, we work to strengthen public trust, support professional credibility, and contribute to the development of the professions represented on the IPR Public Register.
Our Core Values
Integrity
Integrity is the foundation of every respected profession. We promote honesty, transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in every aspect of professional practice, ensuring that trust remains at the centre of every professional relationship.
Excellence
We believe that excellence is a continuous journey rather than a destination. We encourage professionals to pursue the highest standards of competence, continually improve their knowledge and skills, and deliver services that create meaningful and lasting impact.
Professionalism
Professionalism extends beyond qualifications. It is demonstrated through responsibility, reliability, respect, ethical behaviour, sound judgement, and a commitment to serving others with competence and care.
Public Protection
Protecting the public is central to everything we do. Every standard, policy, and professional expectation promoted by the IPR is designed to strengthen public confidence and encourage informed choices when selecting a registered professional.
Lifelong Learning
Knowledge continues to evolve, and so should every professional. We champion Continuing Professional Development (CPD), reflective practice, research, innovation, and continuous personal and professional growth throughout every stage of a professional career.
Accountability
Professional registration carries responsibility. We encourage every registered professional to accept responsibility for their decisions, actions, conduct, and commitment to recognised professional standards.
Respect
We value every individual and promote fairness, dignity, compassion, cultural awareness, diversity, inclusion, and respect in every professional interaction.
Innovation
We embrace innovation as a driver of professional excellence. By responsibly integrating technology, research, and artificial intelligence, we help professionals remain relevant, effective, and prepared for the future while ensuring that innovation is guided by ethics and human values.
Collaboration
Professional excellence grows through partnership. We encourage collaboration between professionals, educators, organisations, relevant authorities, researchers, and communities to strengthen knowledge sharing, mutual support, and collective progress.
Service
The purpose of every profession is to improve the lives of others. We believe that true professional success is measured not only by achievement but by the positive contribution professionals make to individuals, organisations, and society.
Our Purpose
The International Professional Registrar exists to build a world where professionalism inspires confidence, ethical practice protects the public, and excellence becomes the recognised standard across every profession.
We believe that every professional has the opportunity to make a meaningful difference. By promoting integrity, competence, accountability, and continuous development, we help professionals earn the trust of those they serve while contributing to stronger professions and healthier communities.
Together, we are shaping a future where professional registration represents more than recognition—it represents a commitment to excellence, responsibility, and service.
International Professional Registrar (IPR)
Helping the Public Choose with Confidence. Raising the Standard of Professional Practice.
Who We Are
The International Professional Registrar (IPR) administers independent professional registration, professional recognition, standards, accountability and public verification across the professional fields represented on the IPR Public Register.
Why IPR Exists
IPR provides a clear way for professionals to demonstrate a commitment to ethical practice and for the public to check current registration information.
What We Do
IPR publishes professional standards, supports Continuing Professional Development (CPD), reviews registration applications, maintains the IPR Public Register, and provides information about professional conduct and public protection.
Professional Boards
Professional Boards organise registration categories and requirements for distinct fields of professional practice. Each Board's requirements should be read with the relevant scope, standards and jurisdictional obligations.
Governance
IPR governance includes leadership oversight, Professional Boards, ethics and standards work, registration decisions, professional-conduct processes, conflicts-of-interest controls and review or appeal arrangements.
International Reach
IPR supports professionals and public users across countries and professional fields. Registration remains subject to the laws and professional requirements that apply where a person works.
Public Protection
IPR promotes informed choice, ethical practice, professional accountability and current public verification. IPR registration does not replace government licensing or any legally required registration.
