Appeals and reviews
A registered professional should have access to an appropriate review or appeal process following a disciplinary decision.
Grounds may include:
- significant procedural irregularity;
- material new evidence that could not reasonably have been provided earlier;
- an unreasonable or disproportionate sanction; or
- another recognised ground under IPR procedures.
An appeal is not automatically a complete rehearing of the original matter.
Detailed appeal requirements, deadlines and procedures should be published separately.
Published judgments and professional conduct decisions may include the outcome of an appeal where applicable.
