IPR Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct

The IPR Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct sets the common ethical expectations for every professional registered with the International Professional Registrar. It supports public confidence, protects client welfare and guides responsible decision-making across every Professional Board.

Registered professionals must apply the Code alongside the standards and scope requirements that apply to their category. IPR registration is independent professional recognition and does not replace any legal duty or professional requirement that applies in a particular jurisdiction.

Informed consent and respect for client autonomy.
Professional boundaries and management of conflicts of interest.
Accurate representation of qualifications, experience and registration.
Responsible advertising, marketing and public communications.

Safeguarding and appropriate work with children and vulnerable persons.
Safe digital and online services.
Appropriate referrals, supervision and practice within scope of competence.
Non-discrimination, dignity, respect and client welfare.
Cooperation with complaints, professional-conduct processes and fair review.
Responsible termination of professional relationships and continuity of care where appropriate.

Professionals should use the Code when identifying ethical risks, seeking supervision, making referrals and responding to complaints. The Code is reviewed as IPR standards develop.
